Trilby Furtner

Trilby Lou Furtner, 95, long time Berne resident, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021. She was born April 27, 1925, at the family farm in Nebraska to Lillian and Howard Walker. After serving in the WAV’s during WWII, she met Joseph Furtner in Hollywood. They were married July 10, 1948, and started their married life in southern California. They moved to Berne in 1973.
She valued fine art, music and poetry. An avid gardener, bird watcher and lifelong learner, she brought beauty, joy and curiosity to her friends and family all her life.
She is survived by her three children, Paul, Lori and Janice; three grandchildren, David, Michael and Kyra; great-grandchild, Penny; sister, Dixie; and niece and nephew, Danielle and Robert.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and sister, Twila.
Private family services will be held at later date.
Memorials may be made to the Berne Public Library and mailed to the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
