Thomas T. Toland, 76, of rural Geneva, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at 5:45 a.m. at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born Thursday, December 16, 1943, in Jay County to John Kenneth and Audrey D. (Rigby) Toland. He was married Saturday, November 29, 1969, in Fort Wayne to Rhonda Gail Woodard.
He was a 1961 graduate of Geneva High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967. He formerly worked at AG Aggregates in Linn Grove for many years. He enjoyed driving tractors, going to the Bryant Truck Stop, watching game shows and spending time on the farm where he and his wife resided for 51 years.
He is survived by his wife of Geneva; three daughters, Julie (Pete) Bodle; and Tamara R. Toland, both of Berne; and Kellie J. (William) Morningstar of Geneva; son, Thomas R. Toland of Monroeville; nine grandchildren, Bobby Switzer of South Bend; Maizy King of Bluffton; Violet Bodle; Hudson Harper; and Haven Harper, all of Berne; Willow Morningstar; Skylar Morningstar; and Bo Thomas Morningstar, all of Geneva; and baby boy Toland to be born in November; great-grandchild, Emery King; three brothers, John Toland of Portland; and Jim (Phyllis) Toland; and Ted (Kitt) Toland, both of Geneva; and sister-in-law, Jan Toland of Geneva.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert Toland; and Randy Toland.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, September 25 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Stalker. Burial will be at Studebaker Cemetery in Adams County.
Military graveside rites will be provided by the U.S. Army.
