Thomas Egan, Jr.

Thomas Joseph Egan, Jr., 62, of Berne passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, at his residence. He was born on September 2, 1959, in Oak Park, Illinois to Thomas and Patricia Ann (Burke) Egan, Sr. He was married November 27, 1982, in Oak Park, Illinois to Christine J. Hoeksema.
He was a member at Grace Bible Church in Berne, where he was an elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a project manager for eClinical Works.
He enjoyed camping, being outdoors, golfing and reading. Above all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose goal was to reflect the life, love and example of Jesus Christ. He was a consistent example of faithfulness in his marriage, relationships, and his walk with Christ. He desired everyone he knew and met to know and understand that all good things in his life come from God. He loved serving others but also cherished his quiet time reading his Bible and spending time with his Lord. His desire for everyone was that they might know, follow and experience Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his mother; his wife of Berne; two sons, Justin (Samantha) Egan of Chatham, Ontario, Canada; and Jonathan (Elissa) Egan of Greenville, South Carolina; two daughters, Jamie (Jesse) Gaskill of Berne; and Jessica Egan of Manheim, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Chrissy (Tom) Sendzik of Burlington, North Carolina; and Lynda (Roger) Kotalik of South Elgin, Illinois; and nine grandchildren, Kyden, Parker, Lachlan; Adelaide and Lucy Egan; Cayson and Peyton Gaskill; and Nayelee and Wells Egan.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 2 from 3-7 p.m. at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Sunday, April 3 at Grace Bible Church in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Gaskill. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
