Stanley S. Stauffer, 74, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on September 16, 1945 in Decatur to Everett and Eileen (Steiner) Stauffer. He was married on October 11, 1969 to married Darlene A. Hurst.
He worked for Dolco Packaging in Decatur for over 30 years. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Craig) Eversole of Morton, Illinois; three grandchildren, Grant Eversole; Connor Eversole; and Nick (Carly) Eversole; her son’s stepdaughter, Candyce Bettencourt; and a sister, Karen Rowell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on January 1, 2009; his son, Troy S. Stauffer on November 19, 2019; and two brothers, Loren Stauffer; and Charles Stauffer.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, December 29 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Dan York. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 43 Color Guard.
