Shirley Ellenberger

Shirley Ellen Ellenberger, 80, of Greenfield, formerly of Geneva, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 1:25 p.m. at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Sunday, Sep. 12, 1943, in Union City to Wilber and Madeline (Mendenhall) Day. She was married Sunday, Aug. 30, 1959, in Geneva to Jerome Ellenberger.
She was a graduate of Geneva High School. She had worked at the Ben Franklin Dime Store in Geneva, Nussbaum Novelty in Berne and Franklin Electric in Bluffton for 26½ years. She was a member of the Franklin Electric Retired Ladies Group in Bluffton. She attended First Missionary Church in Berne. She enjoyed crafts and flowers.
She will be forever missed by her husband of Greenfield; two daughters, Ronda S. Todd of Ossian; and Lynette D. (Brad) Johnson of Greenfield; eight grandchildren, Joshua Todd; Andy Todd; and Kristina Todd, all of Ossian; Jesicca Todd of Albion; Taylor Herman of Uniondale; Megan Bluhm of Decatur; Christopher Herman of Woodburn; and Kegan Johnson of Greenfield; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian L. Ellenberger; and sister, Dorothy Teeter.
Visitation will be Monday, June 3 from 2-8 p.m. at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. A celebration of life service will be Tuesday, June 4 at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Church, 950 U.S. 27 South, Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Dathen Foust. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
