Sally Chapman

Sally J. Chapman, 87, of Monroe passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was born November 9, 1934, in Pleasant Mills to S. Nimrod and Edith (Place) McCullough. She was married to Kerwin Chapman.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur and worked at the Adams County Extension Office as a secretary for 32 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Susie (Lynn) Myers of Monroe; brother, Richard McCullough of Rockford, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mindy (Craig) Fruechte of Decatur; Katie (Paul) Fisher of Monroe; and Carley Myers of Memphis, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Brielle, John and Della; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on February 3, 1969; two brothers, Gerald and Charles “Chuck” McCullough; and sister, Susan A. Norton.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 9 from 12-3 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Monday, January 10 at First Baptist Church in Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Whitney West. A private burial will take place at Decatur Cemetery.
