Roselyn P. Johnson-Habegger

Roselyn Pauline Johnson-Habegger, 87, of Berne was called to her heavenly home on Monday, March 26, 2018. She was born on March 9, 1931 in Adams County to Amos and Susie (Clark) Huser. She was married on November 4, 1950 to Robert E. Johnson. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1994. She was married on November 30, 1996 to C. Earl Habegger. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2008.

She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1949. She was a charter member of the Springhill Missionary Church.  She was an active member, having served on various committees and was active in the Women’s Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Swiss Red Hatters and the Merrier Monday’s Home Economics Club. She worked as a branch manager for the First Bank of Berne and served there for 23½ years.

She loved to watch Indiana University basketball and was an avid fan of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and other various activities.

She is survived by two sons, Walter Johnson; and Ronald (Kay) Johnson, both of Berne; daughter, Connie (John) Hammond of Decatur; step-daughter, Terri Coolman of Fort Wayne; step-son, Scott (Karen) Habegger of Milwaukee, Wisconson; step-sister, Yovvone Neuenschwander of Oregon; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She is the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Helen (Reuesser) Huser; four sisters, Helen Huser; Velma Reef; and Esther and Edith Huser; brothers, Alton J. Edison “Bud” Huser; Raymond Huser; Junior A. Huser; and an infant brother; step-sister; Jeanette Head; step-daughter, Luann Martin; and great-grandson, Henry Hammond.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 at Yager Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Friday, March 30 at Spring Hill Church. Officiating will be Pastor Bill Hull. Burial will be at Springhill (Backesto) Cemetery.
