Robert Switzer

Robert Roy Switzer, 87 of Geneva passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born December 30, 1933, in Adams County to John Switzer and Nellie Click. He was married November 24, 1954, in Geneva to Mary Lou Bollenbacher.
He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 until 1958. He worked as a welder, union sprinkler fitter and member of the U.A. Local #669. He worked at Automatic Sprinkler in Monroe and Hilty Small Engine Repair. He was a member of the Antique Tractor Pullers Association, was a trap shooter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of Geneva; two daughters, Cindy (Kevin) Miller; and Rose Lehman, both of Geneva; son, Brian Switzer of Geneva; 10 grandchildren, Erin (Andrea Delfavero) Brandt; Stephanie (Jason) Trausch; Leslie (Albert) Fickert Andrews; Jessica (Nick) Bauman; Jason (Autumn) Lehman; Kylie (Jeff) Mills; Bobby Switzer; Maizy (Kyle) King; Greg Miller; and Jennifer Fennig, and nine great-grandchildren, Kalle Trausch; Aliyah Trausch; Camdyn Bauman; Alyxandra Bauman; Zane Fickert; Natalie Fickert; Isaac Andrews; Addilynne Andrews; and Emory King.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Randy Lehman; grandson, Justin Fickert; and two sisters, Eileen Hartley; and Emma Jean Thatcher.
Visitation will be Monday, June 7 from 3-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, June 8 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Geneva. Officiating will be Terry Bollenbacher. Burial with military rites will be at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
