Robert Caffee

Robert Lee Caffee, 83, of Berne passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 3:50 p.m. at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born Saturday, April 30, 1938, in Mercer County, Ohio to Eugene and Delores (Branstetter) Caffee. He was married Saturday, July 19, 1958, in Chat, Ohio to Margaret L. Marsee.
He was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson Township High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp and spent 10 years in the Reserves. He worked for CTS in Berne for 40 years and ITT in Fort Wayne for six years. He was a member of the Geneva VFW, Berne American Legion, Geneva Masonic Lodge, Ft. Wayne Valley Scottish Rite and Ft. Wayne Mizpah Shrine. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Berne and formerly attended the Chat Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed old cars, bowling and playing pool.
He is survived by his wife of Berne; three sons, Allen L. (Janette) Caffee of Avon; Kelly D. (Tamara) Caffee of Berne; and Randy J. Caffee of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Dennis (Becky) Caffee of Geneva; sister, Judith (Phil) Baumgartner of Mansfield, Ohio; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember Tuesday, January 4 from 2-8 p.m. at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva.
Military rites will be conducted by the Berne American Legion and the Geneva VFW.
