Richard Marbaugh

Richard A. Marbaugh, 86, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. He was born July 20, 1935, in Van Wert, Ohio to Joe “Wilber” and Wanda (Brough) Marbaugh. He was married September 25, 1960, at Decatur Church of God to Janet Ruth Agler. They were married for 41 years before her passing.
He was a high school graduate from Willshire High School class of 1955. He worked at General Electric as an inspector for electric motor manufacturing for 34 years retiring in 1988. He also worked two years just during the corn and bean rush at Central Soya (now Bunge) in Decatur.
He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. He was a member of the Decatur Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at Silver Lake in Michigan.  
He is survived by his daughter, Allison (John) Hawkins of Merrillville; brother, Bud (Diane) Marbaugh of Albion; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on October 12, 2001; two sisters, Barb Seitz on October 16, 1998; and Connie Love on August 28, 2018; and his mother-in-law, Norma Agler on April 14, 2011.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 9 from 12-4 p.m. and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Monday, January 10 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Don Smith. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, Ohio.
