Richard Honig

Richard J. Honig, 93, of Leo went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born November 14, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri to Louis O. and Irene (Johnson) Honig. He was married to Ann Ludeman.
He was a graduate of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri and was a sales executive for Swift & Company, Springbrook Farms and Bil Mar Foods. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict.  
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Ronald) Nussbaum of Angola; son, Richard E. (Kathi) Honig of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, John (Emily) Nussbaum; Lora (Chris) Miner; Leanne (Ward) Hamlet; Emily (Jesse) Carmody; and Meg (Marcus) Heminger, all of Fort Wayne; Katie (Tom) Rish of Zionsville; Anna (Dex) Witte of Memphis, Tennessee; and Rachel (Dan) Fiechter of Bluffton; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Louis (Elizabeth) Honig; and Theodore (Mary) Honig; and two sisters, Irene (Bud) Miltenberger; and Ethel (Allen) Vesper.
Private family services were held. Burial will be at Leo Memorial Cemetery in Leo.
