Richard H. Minnich

Richard H. Minnich, 84, of Geneva passed away at 10:53 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born on Thursday, June 22, 1933 in Jay County to Hubert and Christine (Ritzius) Minnich. He was married on Saturday, July 3, 1954 in Clayton County, Georgia to Delores Pauline Roe.

He attended Jefferson Township School and served his country from 1954-1956 in the US Army. He was an Adams County farmer. He worked at Micro Precision in Berne and retired from International Harvester in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Berne American Legion, Geneva VFW, and the U.A.W. Union. He enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles.

He is survived by three sons, Roger (Sherri) Minnich; Ronald “Ferd” Minnich; and Randy “Buck” (Brenda) Minnich, all of Geneva; daughter, Joyce Arnold of Decatur; eight grandchildren, Jason Arnold, Jeff Arnold, Justin Arnold, Katrina Gilbert, Heidi Sprunger, Kayla Murphy, Blake Minnich, and Braxton Minnich; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and brother, Donald Minnich.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Ernie Suman and Pastor Tamara Lugar. Burial will be at Backesto/Spring Hill Cemetery in Decatur.

Military rites will be conducted by the US Army, Berne American Legion Post, and Geneva VFW.
