Pauline Siefring

Pauline M. Siefring, 89, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born June 11, 1932, in Versailles, Ohio to Henry and Lena (Frances) Phlipot. She was married August 23, 1950, to Harold J. “Lucky” Siefring.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was member of the Women of St. Mary’s, Rosary Society and the Alter Guild. She retired at the young age of 86 from the Starlite Country Club, where she and her husband were owner/operators for 45 years. In her earlier days, she was part of the Women of the Moose. She loved her family and her dog, Gizzy.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Siefring of Preble; and Lloyd (Joan) Siefring; and Richard Siefring, both of Decatur; four daughters, Theresa Wolfe of Orlando, Florida; Sandra (Jerry) Fuelling of Decatur; Diane (Randy) Winteregg of Berne; and Dorothy (Ron) Bransteter of Monroe; two brothers, Frances (Janice) Phlipot of North Star, Ohio; and Eugene (Mary Lou) Phlipot of Minster, Ohio; four sister-in-laws, Mary Phlipot of New Breman, Ohio; Monica Siefring of Louisville, Kentucky; Ruth Siefring of St. Mary’s, Ohio; Barb Winner of Osgood, Ohio; and Marge Siefring of Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 35+1 on the way great -grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on November 17, 2010; daughter, Theresa “Boog” Orchard; and 12 siblings, Joe Phlipot; Charles Phlipot; Ed Phlipot; Lee Phlipot; Ernie Phlipot; Lorretta Edwards; Mildred Gaier; Elenore Schlater; Eileen Overman; Rita Phlipot; Bernard Phlipot; and Rita Phlipot.
Visitation will be Monday, July 26 from 4-8 pm. with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 27 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior in the Parish Hall. Officiating will be Father Dave Ruppert. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Special Olympics or Masses.
