Pauline Parr

Pauline Marie Parr, 91, of Berne passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Woodcrest in Decatur. She was born April 7, 1930, in Berne to Jacob and Adina (Gilliom) Gerber. She was married March 15, 1959, to Jerry Parr.
She was a lifelong member of the First Mennonite Church in Berne, where she sang in The Messiah and taught children’s church. She was employed at IGA in Berne for several years and also at Lengerich Meats, and later Manley Meats in Monroe for over 20 years.
When her children were younger, she enjoyed making her children Halloween costumes and making Faberge eggs and Scherenschnitte paper design.
She is survived by two sons, Charles (Annette) Parr of Markle; and Robert (Debra) Parr of Berne; daughter, Paulette (Todd) Whaley of St. Louis, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Kris (Jessika) Adams; Danielle Parr; Brandon (Ashley) Parr; Nathan Parr; and Micheal and Adina Whaley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on January 3, 2015; and her brother, James Gerber.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 6 from 4-8 p.m. at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne. Funeral services will be Friday, January 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Schwartz. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
