Opal E. Hartley

Opal E. Hartley, 90, of Angola, formerly of Geneva, passed away at 1:34 a.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Aperion Care of Angola. She was born on Tuesday, May 15, 1928 in Ohio City, Ohio to John Lewis and Nellie (Click) Switzer. She was married in 1953 in Markle to Clarence R.  Hartley.

She attended Jefferson Township schools in Adams County. She was a homemaker and was the cook at the Holiday Inn in Angola. She was a member of the Missionary Club in Angola. She enjoyed flowers and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Elaine Cramer of Fairfax, Virginia; Nancy M. Laskoski of Rolling Prairie; and Susan C. (Robert) Kollmar of Downers Grove, Illinois; son, Clarence Hartley, Jr. of Angola; brother, Robert (Mary) Switzer of Geneva; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on November 10, 1972; and sister, Emmajean Thatcher.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, December 28 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
