Norma Aspy

Norma “Jean” Aspy, 92, of Bryant passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Albany Healthcare in Albany. She was born on May 24, 1926 in Wells County to Richard L. and Jessie Nema (Runyon) Fields. She was married on November 24, 1946 in Adams County to Frederick Wayne Aspy.

She attended New Corydon Methodist Church and High Street United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of the Bryant Senior Citizen Organization and the Tri-State Tractor and Engine Association. She enjoyed corresponding to family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, Jack (Susie) Aspy of Fremont, Nebraska; Larry Aspy of Jay County; and Allen Aspy of Cable, Ohio; three daughters, Connie (Tom) Grover of Bluffton; Rita (Ron) Journay of Decatur; and Cynthia (Dick) Garringer of Ridgeville; two brothers, Robert Fields of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; and David Fields of Gaston; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer (Aspy) Swanson; Melissa (Aspy) Barlow; Todd Aspy; Kevin Grover; J.W. Aspy; Scott Aspy; Roy Aspy; Brandon Journay; Stephanie (Journay) Rice; Christine Journay; Richard Garringer; Samantha (Garringer) Daniels; Travis Garringer; Kyle Garringer; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Richard Fields; and grandson, Ron Aspy.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
