Nina E. Wittwer

Nina E. Wittwer, 92, of Indianapolis, formerly of Berne, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Community Hospital-North in Indianapolis. She was born on June 1, 1924 in Adams County to James M. and Lavanga (Van Gundy) Kistler. She was married on August 4, 1942 to Ray Wittwer.

While living near her daughters, she attended the Old Bethel United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. While living in Berne, she was employed at CTS Corp. and at Gifford's IGA. Upon moving to Florida, she and her husband owned the Indiana Lake Estates Motel in Lake Wales. She enjoyed sewing, raising flowers, and faithfully reading her Bible.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Deborah) Wittwer of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Sharyl (Brian) Groves of Noblesville; and Caryl (Dick) Richwine of Fishers; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers, Forest, Harold, Emanuel, Marvin, Norman Kistler; two sisters, Esther Morgan; and Ola Sheets; and grandson, Kevin Grove.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the 3:00 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, October 23 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Robert McMillen. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.

Memorials may be made to Angels of East Africa or Faith Ministries in McAllen, Texas.
