Naomi Wiederkehr

Naomi Ann Wiederkehr, 87, of Berne passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on March 22, 1932 in Clyde, Ohio to Rev. C.H. and Ruth (Gerig) Wiederkehr.
She was a member of West Missionary Church in Berne where she had been a Sunday school teacher. She also attended Spring Hill Missionary Church.
She was educated in Berne and Clyde, Ohio schools and was a graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College. She held positions in libraries in Peoria, Illinois; Fort Wayne; and Berne and in the Berne branch of the Bank of Geneva. She was active in the children’s ministry of various churches. She was an author and illustrator of children’s picture books including the book “What Does the Pastor Do,” and other literature for children. She delighted in using her sewing and knitting skills to benefit young children in missions both locally and abroad. She used her artistic ability to create lovely greeting and note cards.
She will be remembered for her deep love of her Savior and for her jovial and happy spirit.
She is survived by her brother, Rev. Gareth Wiederkehr of Berne; and two sisters, Marilyn Stokes of Lima, Ohio; and Miriam Ogden of Morton, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Wiederkehr.
Visitation was three hours prior to the 2:30 p.m. funeral service on Monday, October 14 at Swiss Village Auditorium in Berne. Officiating was Rev. Bill Hull. Burial was at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
Memorials may be made to the Swiss Village Endowment Fund.
