Mary Ann Jacobson

Mary Ann R. Jacobson, 85, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Persimmon Ridge Rehab Center in Portland. She was born May 3, 1936, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey to Edward and Agnes (Pfifer) Schmidt. She was married in Union, New Jersey to Harold Lambert Jacobson.
She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Bayville, New Jersey and volunteered as needed at church. She was a high school graduate and went to college at Mt. Sinai NYC in 1957, where she received her associate degree in nursing and graduated with a bachelors in science degree in nursing from Rutgers University in 1961. She was a registered nurse at Silverton Pediatrics LLC for 23 years, retiring in 2009.
She was a very quiet person. She enjoyed and loved her cats! Over the course of her life, she rescued 20 cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Jim) Langham of Decatur; granddaughter, Julie Allomong of Edgerton, Ohio; granddaughter, Sandi (Harold) Langham-Pabatao of Chicago, Illinois; grandson, Jason (Kacie) Langham of Fort Wayne; and three great-grandchildren, Kirsten Langham; Aliyanna Pabatao; and Thaddeus Pabatao.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 3, 2011; a great-grandchild, Juniper Langham; and four brothers, Edward, Arnold, E. Richard “Dick” and George Schmidt, who died at four years of age.
There will be no services. She will be buried next to her husband at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey at a later date.
