Martin H. Schwartz, 74, of rural Berne passed on to eternal rest Friday, September 18, 2020, at 9:19 p.m. at his home. He was born Sunday, October 28, 1945, in Berne to Henry H. and Katherine (Wickey) Schwartz. He was married Thursday, November 7, 1968, to Mary J. Graber.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his wife of Berne; nine sons, Jonas (Emma) Schwartz of Ligonier; Henry (Verena) Schwartz of Shipshewana; Martin (Margaret) Schwartz; and Paul (Barbara) Schwartz, both of Geneva; Andy (Bertha) Schwartz of Hanover, Michigan; Elmer (Debra) Schwartz; Joe (Marlene) Schwartz; and John (Susan) Schwartz, all of Berne; and Levi (Elizabeth) Schwartz of Bluffton; seven daughters, Maryann (Phenis) Wickey of Homer, Michigan; Katherine (Henry) Schwartz of Decatur; Margaret (Andy) Eicher; Mandy (Joe) Schwartz; Lydiann (Emanuel) Schwartz; and Emma (Emanuel) Schwartz, all of Berne; and Susan (Emanuel) Troyer, of Bluffton; four sisters, Amanda H. (Sam) Wickey; and Mary H. (Willie) Shetler, both of Berne; and Rebecca H. (Danny) Eicher; and Sarah H. (John) Hilty, both of Geneva; six brothers, Daniel H. (Leah) Schwartz of Bryant; William H. (Susie) Schwartz of Quaker City, Ohio; Paul H. (Amanda) Schwartz of White Cloud, Michigan; Andrew H. (Ida Mae) Schwartz of Nappanee; David (Lovina) Schwartz of Seymour, Missouri; and Henry (Adeline) Schwartz of Geneva; 118 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday, September 20 from 1-8 p.m. and Monday, September 21 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the residence, 5713S 600E, Berne. Funeral service was Tuesday, September 22 at 9 a.m. at the residence. Officiating was Bishop Alvin Graber. Burial took place at East Salem Cemetery in Adams County.
