Marjorie Davidson

Marjorie Davidson, 94, of Portland passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the IU Jay County Hospital. She was born on January 13, 1924 in Randolph County to Walter and Ocie (Nixon) Whitenack. She was married on June 5, 1943 to Victor Davidson.

She was a homemaker and beautician. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Deerfield and Ambers Beauty School. She was a member of Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association and Jay County Extension Club-Green Township.

She is survived by three sons, Richard (Libby) Davidson of Portland; William (Virginia) Davidson of Angola; and Randy (Rhonda) Davidson of Pennville; daughter Sherry (Dwain) Michaels of Greenfield; brother Leland (Charlene) Whitenack of Ridgeville; brother-in-law, Keith Flesher of Danville, Illinois; sister-in-law, Jeannie (Paul) Weaver of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on August 8, 2001; two brothers, Wayne and Don Whitenack; and sister, Joan Whitenack Flesher.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 26 and one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, November 27 at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland. Officiating will be Pastor Darrell Borders and Pastor Paul Van Cise. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Pennville.
