Marilyn Zehr

Marilyn Zehr, 78, of Berne passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on May 8, 1940 in Pittsfield, Pennsylvania to Laverne and Jessie (Morrison) Haight. She was married on October 28, 1961 in Pennsylvania to Paul E. Zehr.

She was a homemaker and an active member of Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling to Holmes County with her husband, decorating, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time visiting with shut-ins.

She is survived by her husband of Berne; daughter, Darlene Zehr of Adrian, Michigan; three sons, Darrell (Melisa) Zehr of Middletown; Duane (Dawn) Zehr of Helena, Montana; and Brad (Julie) Zehr of Spencerville; two sisters, Barbara (LaRue) Gross of Inverness, Florida; and Sharon (Gerald) Bennett of Pittsfield, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Dennis (Marlyn) Haight of Salem, Ohio; and Thomas (Paulette) Haight of Alliance, Ohio; sister-in-law, Colleen Haight of Berne; and five grandchildren, Shelsea Zehr; Cassie Zehr; Christian Zehr; Andrew Zehr; and Allie Zehr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Larry Haight; and Duane Haight.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne and one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, September 29 at Mt. Hope Church. Officiating will be Pastor David Cox. Burial will be at Evengelical Mennonite Cemetery.
