Marie A. Noonan

Marie A. Noonan, 81, of Berne passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne and is home with her Lord, whom she loved and served. She was born on Sunday, October 3, 1937 in Berne to Walter and Wilma (Spichiger) Lehman. She was married on Saturday, June 24, 1961 in Berne to Richard Noonan.

She was a 1955 graduate of Berne-French High School. In her early years, she was a member of the Adams County 4-H, had served on the church board and was a Sunday school teacher. She worked for the First Bank of Berne and the Adams Wells Special Services. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always smiling, kind, thoughtful and willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time with her family, serving at church, cooking and serving others. She was known as Grandma Noonan to many.

She is survived by her husband of Berne; two sons, Ben (Lori) Noonan of Berne; and Denny (Joann) Noonan of Decatur; three daughters, Ann Noonan (Kevin) Frank of Liberty Center; Mary Noonan (Sam) Smith of Antwerp, Ohio; and Donna Noonan (Mark) Jones of Berne; five brothers, Milton Lehman of North Platte, Nebraska; Roy (Karen) Lehman; and Frank (Susie) Lehman, both of Berne; William (Becky) Lehman of Hillsdale; and Murl (Barb) Lehman of Gaffney, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Ken (Lois) Noonan of Killeen, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Lehman of Berne; Linda Lehman of Decatur; and Martha Joan Noonan of Bluffton; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild,  

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Norman Lehman; Gerald Lehman; Joseph Lehman; and Lynn Lehman; and three sisters-in-law, Nadine Lehman; Mary Alice Lehman; and Maurine Lehman.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene, 5005E 500S, Berne. Officiating will be Pastor David Cox. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at  Evangelical Church Cemetery.
