Loretta Brooks

Loretta I. Brooks, 94, of Berne passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior at 6:42 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born Sunday, April 19, 1925, in Adams County to John C. and Sarah (Zurcher) Soldner. She was married in Cooperstown, New York to Raymond Brooks.
She was a graduate of Monroe High School. She was a member of the Nazarene Church of Geneva where she taught Sunday school and was a board member. She had worked for General Electric in Fort Wayne, Berne Furniture for 36 years and Geneva Restaurant. She was a member of the Bryant Senior Citizens Club and Winter Place in Geneva. She will be remembered for her kind, pleasant personality and faithful Christian service. She loved her family, gospel music and her hymns.
She is survived by her grandson, Greg Brooks of Geneva; and great-grandson, Jackson Brooks of Geneva; and will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her her parents; her husband; two sons, Ron and Roy Brooks; five sisters, Florence Brauner; Laura Meyer; Marie Macy; Lorena Covey; and Cathryn Sprunger.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, February 4 at Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St., Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Wilbur Taylor. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
