Lois Brunstrup

Lois J. Brunstrup, 76, of Monroe passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born July 13, 1947, in Decatur to Hubert and Mildred (Strickler) Keller. She was married June 5, 1971, at the Decatur Church of God to Tom Brunstrup.
She attended Willshire Union United Methodist Church and served as the church organist and pianist. She remained active within the church as the administrative board secretary, sang in the choir and previously taught Sunday school. She was great at encouraging others and would send many cards to individuals.   
She was previously employed at the Decatur Daily Democrat as a society editor. She was a lifelong homemaker and taught piano lessons for 40 years.
She was a talented baker and was most known for her peach cream pie. She enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. One of her greatest loves was music, and she played the piano for over 63 years. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of Monroe; two sons, Mark (Lora) Brunstrup; and Keith (Krista) Brunstrup, both of Monroe; sister, Donna (Jerry) Gerber of Decatur; sister-in-law, Judy Keller of Decatur; four grandchildren, Zachary Brunstrup; Hallie Brunstrup; Lillian Brunstrup; and Nicole Brunstrup; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Robert Keller.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21 from 3-8 p.m. at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and Wednesday, May 22 for one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service at Willshire Union United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Ginter and Rev. Anita Rediger. Burial will be at Ray Cemetery.
