Leon Zuercher

Leon Walter Zuercher, 58, of Indianapolis went home to Jesus Wednesday, June 2, 2021, surrounded by his girls. His death from COVID-19 was unexpected. He was born September 15, 1962, to Walter and Lucile Zuercher and was the baby of the family
He graduated from South Adams High School in 1981, Taylor University in 1985 and IUPUI in 1992. He made his home in Indianapolis. He spent the first part of his career working at the Naval Air Warfare Center/Raytheon. For the last several years, he enjoyed working at FedEx.
He was a great dad to his girls. When they were little, he was not afraid to put on a tiara or play Barbies – as long as he could be Ken the Marine. He enjoyed the outdoors and planting trees, so his final arrangements are very fitting.
He is survived by his three daughters, Whitney, Hailey and Katie Zuercher and their mother, Candace Trzaskowski, all of Indianapolis; three sisters, Margaret Ann (Don) Harsha; and Elaine (Jeff) Boze, both of Berne; and Linda Abernathy of North Carolina; and brother, Paul (Marvel) Zuercher of Berne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved brother-in-law, Charles Abernathy.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46228 with a short graveside service immediately following.
Arrangements provided by Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North in Indianapolis.
