Lawrence Neuen

Lawrence James Neuen, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Valley Rehab and Nursing Center in Taylorsville, North Carolina, where he had been a patient for the past five years. He died peacefully after approximately 24 hours in a coma. He was the son of Lee and Erma Neuen and graduated from Berne-French High School in 1955. This was followed by his career in the United States Army. Following that, he relocated to Newton, North Carolina and had a career in restaurant management. In his retirement, he worked for several years with the Catawba County (N.C.) Sheriff’s Office as a volunteer calling aged people in the area who lived alone to meet needs they might have and make sure they were well. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge of Newton.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Neuen; daughter, Shirley Frankhauser; three sons, Larry Lee Neuen; L.J. Neuen; and Paul Russell Neuen; sister, Lois Bondesen; and brother, Don Neuen.
