Kenneth Isch

Kenneth R. “Ken” Isch, 86, of Bluffton passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born on January 22, 1933 in Adams County to Joe R. and Minnie (Aeschliman) Isch. He was married on June 17, 1956 in Bluffton to Carolyne M. Moser.  

A 1951 graduate of Berne French High School, he served in the United States Army in Korea from 1954 until 1955. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and was a livestock and grain farmer for many years. He also worked as a systems administrator and data processor for several companies, including Home Dairy in Berne, Rea Magnet Wire and Summit Bank in Fort Wayne, along with the Wayne Township Trustee’s Office.  He recently had served as the Lancaster Township Trustee for the past four and a half years, retiring from that role in June of 2019.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jeff (Karen) Isch; and Jim (Rachel) Isch, both of Bluffton; four daughters, Jodi (Jody) Holloway; and Jeni Mattmuller, both of Bluffton; Juli (Jon) Kaehr of Decatur; and Janean (Hal) Kipfer of Lemont, Illinois; two sisters, Lucile Frauhiger; and Betty (Bill) Longenberger, both of Bluffton; 28 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Ervin, Walter, Alvin, Glen, and Hubert Isch; and three sisters, Mildred Krill; Irene Neuenschwander; and Viola Gerber.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, July 13 at Apostolic Christian Church East. Officiating will be John Reinhard and Mark Gerber. Burial will be at Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Military graveside rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 111 in conjunction with the United States Army Honor Guard.
