John Leistner

John D. “Big John” Leistner, 66, of Rockford, Ohio passed away Friday, November 20, 2020, as a result of an accident. He was born April 18, 1954, in Decatur to Paul and Barbara (White) Leistner.
He was a member of the Eagles #1292 in Rockford, Ohio and the American Legion. He retired as a long haul truck driver for Moeller Trucking, logging over six million miles before retiring the first of 2020. He loved his family, fishing, being outdoors and enjoyed riding his Harley.
He is survived by his son, Shawn (Angela) Stroh of Readyville, Tennessee; three sisters, Paula Reeves of West Salem, Ohio; Nelda (Gale) Thomas of Celina, Ohio; and Rose (David) McComas  of Fort Wayne; brother, Denny (Tina) Leistner of Auburndale, Florida; and two granddaughters, Lacy and Allie Stroh.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, November 27 at Bethel Brethren Church in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Nass and Pastor Tim Broughton. Burial will be at Kessler Cemetery in Chattanooga, Ohio.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
