Jim Arnold

Jim E. Arnold, 88, of Geneva passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Adams Memorial Hospital. He was born May 18, 1932, in Adams County to the late Floyd A. and Lela May (Schlickman) Arnold. On December 31, 1953, he married Mary Ellen Byerly.
He was a member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. He retired as a school teacher, where he had taught at Monmouth and South Adams High School. He was a lifetime member of the VFW; a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association and National Education Association. He served his country in the United States Army. He was able to go on Honor Flight #34 and loved the experience.
He is survived by his wife of Geneva; a son, James L. (Diane) Arnold of Geneva; three daughters, Joy L. (Rick) Fay of Indianapolis; Janis L. (Lynn) Dustman of Geneva; and Joan L. Arnold of Geneva; a brother, Darrel (Joyce) Arnold of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Pat Arnold of Monroe; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Arnold.
A private family service will be held, due to the COVID-19 concerns. Burial will be in Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Pleasant Dale Church or Pleasant Dale Cemetery.
