Jerome Hilty

Jerome A. Hilty, 72, of rural Berne passed away Monday, May 18, 2020, at 4:10 a.m. at his residence. He was born Monday, November 10, 1947, in Monroe to Andrew A. and Amanda (Schwartz) Hilty. He was married Thursday, June 3, 1971, in Adams County to Bertha L. Miller.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish. He designed cabinets at Hilty Builder Supply in Berne.
He is survived by his wife of Berne; five sons, Leroy B. (Loretta) Hilty; Marlan B. (Emma Graber) Hilty; Eldon B. (Arlene) Hilty; Jerome A. (Christine Eicher) Hilty, Jr.; and Alvin B. (Katie Shetler) Hilty, all of Berne; four daughters, Laura B. (Sam V.) Shetler; Leona B. (Daniel D.) Hilty; Rosmanda B. (Lamar) Schwartz; and Melinda B. (Elmer A E) Hilty, all of Berne; two brothers, Martin A. (Elizabeth Miller) Hilty; and Ernest A. Hilty, both of Monroe; sister, Anna A. (John K.) Schwartz of Monroe; 71 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 19 from 1-8 p.m. and Wednesday, May 20 from 9 a.m.-8p.m. at the Jerome Hilty residence, 3833W 450S, Berne. Funeral service was Thursday, May 21 at 8:30 a.m. at the residence. Officiating was Bishop Ruben A. Schwartz. Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Adams County.
