Helen J. Brunner, 89, of Berne passed away Friday, June 12, 2020, at 8 p.m. at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne. She was born Saturday, January 3, 1931, in New Corydon to Charles Otto and Leola (Bryan) Patterson. She was married Friday, December 24, 1948, in Jay City to Evan H. Brunner.
She was a graduate of Jefferson Township School in Adams County. She was a former realtor with Miz-Lehman Realtors in Berne for many years. She was very active at West Missionary Church in Berne, where she was a member for many years. For 12 years, she spent her time near Frostproof, Florida. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and playing shuffleboard.
She is survived by her husband of Berne; daughter, Pamela K. Heimann of Findlay, Ohio; two sisters, Delores Patch of Berne; and Delee Mattax of Fort Wayne; brother, Bill Patterson of Berne; three grandchildren, Jason C. Burry of Berne; and Woody T. Heimann; and Erin A. Hassan, both of Findlay, Ohio; and three great-grandchildren, Ava J. Hassan; Brier A. Hassan; and Owen M. Hassan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Jana D. Burry.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, June 17 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Officiating will be Pastor Brad Mattax. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
