Harold Arnold

Harold K. Arnold, 84, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 5, 1935 in Adams County to Floyd “Peck” and Lela (Schlickman) Arnold. He was married on July 13, 1953 to Pat Beitler.
He worked for Farm Bureau for 10 years and then worked for Zollner Pistons as a machinist for 36 years. He was a baseball coach for little league and pony league in Monroe for many years. He was a member of the Adams Co. Bowling Association, was an avid golfer and an I.U. fan. He was also a fireman with the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. In his later years, he hauled Amish and was known as the Tootsie Roll man.
He is survived by his wife of Monroe; son, Larry (Laura) Arnold of Sunny Hills, Florida; three daughters, Kathy (Bill) Stoller of Bluffton; and Pam Hamilton; and Jill (Scott) Roth, both of Monroe; two brothers, Darrell (Joyce) Arnold of Decatur; and Jim (Mary Ellen) Arnold of Geneva; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren, Lindsey Arnold; and Jade Amweg.
Visitation will be from 12-4 p.m. on Sunday, November 17 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Monday, November 18 at Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. Officiating will be Pastor Jay Carter. Burial will be at Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery.
