Grace Nussbaum

Grace W. Nussbaum, 90, of Monroe passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur. She was born March 23, 1932, in Adams County to Charles and Mary (Hoffman) Fisher. She was married October 20, 1951, to Curtis D. Nussbaum. They were married for 67 years.
She worked the majority of her life taking care of her family as a homemaker and also worked for G.E. and CTS in Berne. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke Church. She above all loved and enjoyed supporting her grandchildren. She was known for her hospitality, sending greeting cards, cooking meals and baking cookies and pies for others. She and her husband were diehard Chicago Cubs fans.
She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Gary) Giessler; and Diann “Toby” (Ken) Neadstine, both of Monroe; three grandchildren, Kristopher (Rachel) Burkhart; Ashley (Eric Klarer) Gaskill; and Austin (Caitlin) Neadstine; one step-grandson, Tod Giessler; six great-grandchildren, Alex (Kate) Burkhart; Jordan Burkhart; Gaven Gaskill; Presley Gaskill; Greyson Gaskill; and Taitumm Neadstine; and two step-great-grandchildren, Justin Giessler; and Zach Giessler
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 16, 2019; two brothers, Brice and Jim Fisher; and sister, Ellen Lehman.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 24 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Monday, April 25 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy and Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Brunstrup. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery.
