Esther Miller Anderson, 89, of Portland passed away Wednesday May 26, 2021, at her son's home in Fort Wayne. She was born June 4, 1931, in Jay County to Kenneth and Minnie (Trafzer) Somers. She was married to Morris Miller, who preceded her in death. She was married in 1977 to Harry F. Anderson, who preceded her in death in 1998.
She worked at CTS in Berne, K&S Cake Shop and Bearcreek Farms. She was a Gov. I.P. Gray High School graduate and attended of Collett Nazarene Church.
She is survived by three sons, Kenny Miller of Fort Wayne; and Stephen (Angel) Miller; and Terry (Bonnie) Miller, both of Portland; three step-children, Harry (Ruth) Anderson III; and Cathy (Arlen) Mitchell, both of Geneva; and Tony (Maria) Anderson of Berne; brother-in-law, Dick Nixon of Portland; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Miller; three brothers, Ralph, Everett and Ed Somers; and four sisters, Alberta Menchhofer; Betty Naomi Somers; Mary Derringer; and Norma Jean Nixon.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 1 from 3-7 p.m. at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 2 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Billy Stanton. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
