Ernest E. Wickey, 46, of Monroe passed away Monday, June 15, 2020, after being a patient at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, following an unknown cause. He was born September 11, 1973, to Reuben R. and Effie May (Brandenberger) Wickey. He was married May 4, 1995, to Josephine S. Christner, daughter of Samuel and Emma Christner.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his wife; six sons, Marvin, Mervin, Matthew (special friend Lisa), Marlin, Ernest Jr., and David, all at home; eight brothers, Reuben (Frances) Wickey; Elmer (Ruby) Wickey; Elam (Mandy) Wickey; David (Lisa) Wickey; Martin (Betty) Wickey; Emanuel (Elizabeth) Wickey; Paul (Sylvia) Wickey; and Daniel (Rose Ann) Wickey; and four sisters, Frances (Joe) Eicher; Elizabeth (Ruben) Graber; Amy (Dan) Steury; and Margaret (Daniel) Schwartz.
He was preceded in death by his father on December 31, 2013.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 16 from 2-8 p.m. and will be Wednesday, June 17 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Ernest Wickey residence, 2575S 500E, Monroe. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 18 at 8:30 a.m. at the residence. Officiating will be Jake T. Schwartz. Burial will be at East Salem Cemetery.
