Elmer W. Eicher


Elmer W. Eicher, 74, of Geneva passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, September 28, 1944 in Adams County to Ben E. and Mary (Schwartz) Eicher. He was married on Thursday, November 24, 1966 to Sylvia C. Christner.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his wife of Geneva; five daughters, Becky E. (Mervin R.) Hilty; Verna E. (Andrew J.) Wickey; and Phoebe K. (Benjamin R.) Wengerd all of Geneva; Sylvia E. (Atlee J.) Wickey of Hillsboro, Ohio; and Annamae E. (William J.E.) Girod of Berne; three sons, Elmer E. (Josephine E.) Girod; Mahlon E. (Elizabeth T.M.) Wickey; and Phillip E. (Verna R.) Wengerd, all of Geneva; four sisters, Barbara Schwartz of Geneva; Flossie (Roman) Hilty of Berne; Nancy Eicher of Dundee, Ohio; and Rachel (Ed) Hershburger of Trail, Ohio; and five brothers, Solomon Eicher; and Johnny (Susie) Eicher, both of Dundee, Ohio; Jake (Mary) Eicher of Fredericksburg, Ohio; Norman Eicher of Sarasota, Florida; and Levi Eicher of Strausburg, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Dena Eicher; four sons, Samuel Eicher; John Eicher; Matthew Eicher; and Mark Eicher; three brothers, Benjamin Eicher; Clarence Eicher; and Phillip Eicher, and two sisters, Mary Jane Eicher; and Ruth Eicher.
Visitation was from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 11 and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 12 at his residence, 8673S 300 W, Geneva. Funeral services were at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13 at the residence. Officiating was Bishop Ernest Girod. Burial was at Bunkerhill Cemetery in Geneva.
