Edon Ladig

Edon L. Ladig, 33, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis following a battle with cancer since March 2019. She was born on October 12, 1986 in Fort Wayne to David A. and Rita C. (Weber) Boerger. She was married on April 12, 2008 at the Bridge Community Church in Decatur to Nick Ladig.
She was a member of the Bridge Community Church in Decatur. She was a 2005 graduate of Bellmont High School and continued her education at the International Business College obtaining her associates degree. She worked as the plant analyst at Bunge in Decatur.  
She lived for her kids and did anything for them. Her hobbies, which included scrapbooking and reading, often took a backseat to the needs of her children. She was a very generous and selfless person who put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was always a very positive person, clinging to her faith, always looking to God when facing any difficult adversity in her life. She was the matriarch of the family, who was a hero to her nephews, whom she and her husband were in the process of becoming guardians and he will continue.
She is survived by her mother of Fort Wayne; her husband of Decatur; five sons, Christian Ladig; Camden Ladig; Corbin Ladig; Jaxson Ladig; and Colton Ladig, all at home; daughter, Brooklyn Ladig at home; brother, Joseph (Autumn) Boerger of Fort Wayne; paternal grandmother, LaVerne Boerger of Decatur; Nick’s family; parents, Denny and Kim Ladig of Decatur; maternal grandparents, Jim and Bonnie Lehman of Geneva; paternal grandmother, Geraldine Ladig of Bluffton; three brothers, John Ladig; Jordan (Taylor) Ladig; and Spencer Ladig; and four nieces and nephews, Kairi Bostic; and Logan, Hannah, and Emmett Ladig.
She was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Weber; paternal grandfather, Herbert Boerger; and Nick’s paternal grandfather, Dennis Ladig.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15 and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, January 16 at Bridge Community Church in Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Fox.
Memorials may be made to ACCF – Cancer Fund, LLS (Leukemia Lymphoma Society), or the children’s education fund (checks payable to Nick Ladig).
