Edith Maxine Burkhalter, 70, of rural Bryant passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at her son’s home in rural Bryant. She was born January 17, 1952, in Jay County to Homer and Helen (Burkey) Caylor.
She retired from Standard Brush and Broom in Portland after 32 years of service. She served beef and noodles at the Tractor and Engine Show and volunteered at Family and Social Services in Portland.
She is survived by two sons, Gerald (Nova) Burkhalter; and Robbie Burkhalter, both of Bryant; and sister, Nancy Eley of Portland.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy France; and Hazel Pitman; and three brothers, Donald, Larry and Earl Caylor.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 20 from 4-7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be Friday, January 21 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant. Officiating will be Pastor Ed Roller.
