Earl Gerber

Earl W. Gerber, 90, of Bluffton and formerly a longtime Adams County resident, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Adams County to Elmer and Emma (Sinn) Gerber. He was married June 5, 1955, in Paulding, Ohio to Pat Stoller.
He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955, during the Korean conflict. He was a lifelong farmer in Adams County and served on the Adams Central Community Schools school board for 12 years. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, where he served in many various roles.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Suzie (Don) Fiechter of Keystone; Jacki (Dan) Kershner of Decatur; and Vicki (Lance) Roush of Bremen; two brothers, Don (Mary) Gerber of Decatur; and Dale (Carol) Gerber of Ossian; three sisters, Carolyn Roberts; and Lois (Harry T.) Gerber, both of Bluffton; and Pauline (Larry) Gerber of Fort Wayne; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Gerber; and Mary Jo Gerber; brother-in-law; John Clough; and 20 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carroll, Lester, Paul and Elmer Gerber, Jr.; and one sister, Kathy Clough.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 26 from 1-8 p.m. at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Friday, Oct. 27 at the Apostolic Christian Church East in Bluffton. Officiating will be John Reinhard and Lynn Fiechter. Burial will be at Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 111 in conjunction with the United States Army Honor Guard.
