Doris D. Fisher

Doris D. Fisher, 94, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at her residence. She was born on November 29, 1924 in Adams County to Adolph and Esther (Sprunger) Sprunger. She was married on January 25, 1945 to Brice W. “Bud” Fisher.

She was a member of St. Luke Church. She also drove school bus for Adams Central Schools for 20 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Kim (Lois) Fisher; and Dr. Edward (Laurie) Fisher, both of Monroe; and daughter, Mary Kaye Fisher of Monroe; daughter-in-law, Sharon K. Fisher of Monroe; nine grandchildren, Stacey (Eric) Smith; Scott (Liz) Fisher; Stephanie Wable; Sandy (Doug) Beckner; and Missy (Ryan) Martin, all of Monroe; Joe (Danielle) Fisher; Dr. Paul (Katie) Fisher; and Lilah Fisher, all of Berne; and Kelly (Erich) Rediger of Geneva; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 2, 1997; two sons, David and Ken Lee (in infancy) Fisher; brother, Edward Sprunger; and sister, Esther Ray.

Visitation was from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Monday, December 17 at St. Luke Church. Officiating was Pastor Mike Wertenberger. Burial was at Decatur Cemetery.
