Donna Nidlinger

Donna Ruth Nidlinger, 94, of Berne passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born September 7, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan to Charles H. and Floretta Adelia (Lathrop) Branch, Jr. She was married April 8, 1944, to Gale Harvey Nidlinger.
She was a longtime active member of the Gospel Temple in Fort Wayne, where she taught children’s Sunday school class for over 30 years and was active in the Women’s Ministry. Later, she attended First Missionary Church in Fort Wayne and Decatur Church of God. She was also a member of ONO Home Economics Club and active in the GE Quarter Century Club and 4-H Club.
She was a beautician from 1945-1950 and later worked at General Electric in Decatur from 1955-1986. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, crocheting and collecting dolls.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann (Dave) Lister of Fort Wayne; sister, Marjorie VonGunten of Berne; three grandchildren, Michelle Lister; Matthew Lister; and Janelle (Derry) Prenkert; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on October 11, 2018; sister, Evelyn Kiser; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Kiser; and Edward VonGunten.
Visitation will be one and a half hours prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, August 14 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Wertenberger. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery.
