Donald Richwine

Donald C. Richwine, 95, of Berne and former longtime resident of Bluffton, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born May 20, 1927, in Elkhart to Chester L. and Ruth Pauline (Blender) Richwine. He was married September 23, 1950, in Berne to Shirley G. Harsha.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Bluffton. He was a truck driver having started that career in 1966 and retiring in 1992.  He was especially proud of having driven over 1 million miles on the road without having an accident…quite the accomplishment. He watched many westerns with his favorites starring The Duke, John Wayne. He also enjoyed country music.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Don (Rozetta) Richwine of Dunkirk; and Chester Lyle (Georgeann) Richwine of Tacoma, Washington; daughter, Dolly Mae (Steve) Mrowinski of Jensen Beach, Florida; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on March 3, 2018; daughter, Ruth Jeanette Richwine; brother, Robert Richwine; and sister, Dorothy Richwine.
Burial will be held at a later date at Marion National Cemetery with military honors provided.
