Diane Amstutz

Diane Amstutz, 72, Berne passed away Friday, February 18, 2022, at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born February 15, 1950, in Decatur to Claude and Viola (Habegger) Dennison. She was married October 25, 1969, to J. Steven Amstutz.
She was a member of First Missionary Church where she started and led the Sunbeams ministry for one-year-old children. She, along with many dedicated helpers over the years, shared the love of Christ with hundreds of children. It was her passion for 34 years. Her legacy will live on through this special ministry.  
Her love for children extended into her many years of volunteering for the elementary library at Adams Central Community Schools. She was later employed as a library assistant for both the middle and high school at Adams Central for 27½ years until she retired in 2017. In her spare time, she enjoyed flowers, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.  
She is survived by her husband of Berne; two sons, Jeffrey Amstutz (Chad Hershner, husband) of Appleton, Wisconsin; and Bradley (Lana Wulliman) Amstutz of Oregonia, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ethan and Carter Amstutz; special mention, Abby and Josiah Hershner; brother, James (Janet Teeple) Dennison of Berne; and two sisters, Edith (Neill) Von Gunten of Winnipeg, Canada; and Arlene (Harry) Nicodemus of Berne.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the team at Swiss Village and Visiting Nurse for their extraordinary care and compassion shown to Diane.
Visitation was Tuesday, February 22 from 3-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Feb. 23 at First Missionary Church in Berne. Officiating pastors were Jim Schwartz and Rick Schwartz. Burial was at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
