Cynthia Moore

Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Sue Moore, 61, of Berne passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born Feb. 15, 1961, in Decatur to Amos B. and Fannie Schwartz. She was married Dec. 2, 2005, in Berne to Steve Moore.
She attended South Adams High School, class of 1979, where was active in the pompom squad, drama and music programs. She worked at Limberlost Construction and Amos B. Schwartz Construction as a bookkeeper. She held a career with the United States Postal Service, where she held many different positions before retiring in the 2010s.
She was an active bowler at Haworth Lanes winning many titles and even competed nationally in Reno, Nevada. She was inducted into the Adams County Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed volunteering as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Post 468. She always enjoyed cooking for many crowds and helping host events there.
She is survived by her husband of Berne; eight children, Stephanie (Karl) Marcum of Coatesville; Gwendolyn Duncan of Marquand, Missouri; Marvin (Monica) Manley of Bluffton; Tara Feagler of Fort Wayne; Darrell (Trista) Seyler; and Emily (Nick) Kaeser, both of Berne; Joseph (Priscilla) Seyler of Dallas, Texas; and Cassandra Paige Seyler of Clarksville, Tenneessee; 22 grandchildren, Zachary, Kirstyn, Brayden and Layne Marcum; Makinzi and Kaleb Peace; Jacob and Maybrey Manley; Savannah Lee; Raegan Imel; Lorley and Margaux Lorton; Barbara, Cynthia, Lucile and Aaron Feagler, Jr.; Cory Jr. and Jackson Waltmire; Boden (Abby) Sikes; Skylar Sikes; Daylon Sikes; and Presleigh Moore; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Gary) Liechty of Berne; and Teresa (Todd) Moser of Fort Wayne; four brothers, Marvin (Linda) Schwartz; Kenneth (Lindsey) Schwartz; and Mike (Dayon) Schwartz, all of Geneva; and Theodore Tobias Schwartz of Carlisle; three stepsiblings, Craig Peters of Lynden, Washington; and Scott (Jenny) Peters; and Erin (Jamie) Macy, both of Geneva; and stepmother, Neva Schwartz of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 30 from 4-8 p.m. at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva and two hours prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Jan. 31 at First Missionary Church, 950 U.S. 27, Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Schwartz and Pastor Rick Schwartz.
