Charles Fravel

Charles E. Fravel, 90, of Geneva passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. He was born on Thursday, August 8, 1929 in Geneva to William Everett and Ruth (Christman) Fravel. He was married on Saturday, March 25, 1950 in Portland to Rosella M. Schaefer.
He was a lifetime resident of Geneva and attended Geneva High School. He owned and operated the Hub for over 50 years and then the Charlie's Place Store, both in Geneva. He was formerly employed at Bearcreek Farms. He was an avid collector of antiques. He was a Little League coach, Boy Scout leader, a 50-year-member of the Geneva Fire Department and a member of the Indiana Volunteer Fireman’s Association.
He is survived by his three daughters, Karen S. Height; Cindy L. Gunter; and Teresa G. Fravel Cox, all of Geneva; two sons, Gary L. (Kimary) Fravel of Bobo; and Brian G. Fravel of Decatur; two sisters, Madeline Henley of Geneva; and Garnet Bulger of Bluffton; brother, Richard Fravel of Geneva; 16 grandchildren; 20  great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Lonnie D. Fravel; grandson, Vincent Fravel; two sisters, Dorothy Madden; and Agnes Stewart; and brother, Robert Fravel.
Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, January 12 and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Monday, January 13 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Officiating will be Rev. Wilbur Taylor. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
