Carl Yoder

Carl R. Yoder, 88, of Berne passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born March 4, 1933, in Berne to Wilman and Gladys (Augsburger) Yoder.
He was a 1951 graduate of Adams Central High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Nancy, France and was honorably discharged August 9, 1956. He took many computer classes throughout his younger years to lead him into his occupation, working at IBM for 10 years and then working at Control Data for 26 years before retiring January 1, 1987. He was a wildflower guide at the Friends of the Limberlost in Geneva for many years and also served as a board member for the Friends of the Limberlost from 2007 until 2016. In addition to serving his community, he served on the Swiss Heritage Village Board. The hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life were woodcarving, genealogy and wildflower identification.
He is survived by his brother, Earl (Nancy) Yoder of Berne; sister, Gloria (Allen) Sprunger of Saginaw, Michigan; loving friend, Geraldine Gray of Berne; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Carol Nussbaum; and Anita Steury.
His wishes were to be cremated and have no public gathering. He will be buried at MRE Cemetery in Berne at a later date.
