Brice E. Fennig

Rev. Brice E. Fennig, 88, of Berne and former Indianapolis resident, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born on May 14, 1929 near Antiville in Jay County to Fredrick and Cora (Yoss) Fennig. He was married on August 27, 1950 to DeLora Graber.

The family faithfully attended the First Missionary Church in Berne. He attended the Linn Grove School through the 6th grade and graduated as valedictorian from Berne High School in 1947. He attended Taylor University and graduated from Bob Jones University in 1951.

He pastored Brighton Chapel in LaGrange County before joining Youth for Christ. He ministered in Rockford, Illinois for eight years before moving to Indianapolis where he was executive director of Indianapolis Youth for Christ for 27 years. He then pastored Canaan Community Church near Heritage Lake in Putnam County for the next 15 years. He served as executive director of International Christian Visual Media from 1990 to 2012.

He and his wife returned to their hometown and had been residing in Swiss Village since 2004.

He is survived by his wife of Berne; two sons, Gregory (Donna) Fennig of Greenwood; and Richard (Robin) Fennig of Foley, Alabama; daughter, Kathy Ann (John) Tucker of South Haven, Mississippi; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Martel, Leon, and Ernest Fennig; and sister, Corrine Steury.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the 4:00 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, November 28 at the Swiss Village Auditorium. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Fennig and Pastor John Tucker. A private family burial will be at the MRE Cemetery in Berne.

Memorials may be made to the Swiss Village Samaritan Fund or Agape Respite Care.
