Arthur Ford

Arthur Leroy Ford, 92, of Geneva passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020, at 3:05 p.m. at Ossian Health & Rehab Center in Ossian. He was born Wednesday, September 19, 1928, in Wabash Township, Adams County to Jacob “Ray” and Maude Elizabeth (Haffner) Ford. He was married Friday, September 9, 1955, in Portland to Nancy J. Forrest.
He was a 1946 graduate of Geneva High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a member of the Berne First Church of the Nazarene. He was a retired dairyman and farmer and also drove school bus for 21 years for the Geneva and South Adams schools. He enjoyed International tractors and traveling and was an avid I.U. basketball fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana Kay (Denny) Flueckiger of Geneva; son-in-law, Stan Brown of Brooksville, Florida; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on August 15, 2019; and daughter, Deborah Sue Brown.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 29 from 3-8 p.m. at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Funeral service will be Friday, October 30 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Wilbur Taylor. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone is asked to practice social distancing while in the funeral home. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army.
