Anna E. Sprunger

Anna E. Sprunger, 102, of Berne passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Swiss Village in Berne, where she was a resident since January of 1992. She was born on October 28, 1913 in Adams County to Edwin and Bertha (Soldner) Lehman. She was married on October 22, 1938 in Berne to Clyde Sprunger.

She was a faithful member of the First Missionary Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a registered nurse having graduated from the Fort Wayne Lutheran School of Nursing in 1935. She was employed with Dr. Beaver for a number of years, Adams Memorial Hospital, and did private practice. She loved music and was a member of the Berne Swiss Chorus group, which performed in the area and at many Berne Swiss Days.

She is survived by many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1995; brother, Eloyd Lehman; and two sisters, Loretta McLaughlin; and Nova Gerber.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Monday, July 11 at the Swiss Village Chapel in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Anita Rediger. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.

Memorials may be made to the Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
